Oracle Training Courses

iTrain specialises in Oracle training. We offer 79 individual Oracle training courses. This page provides a general overview of these Oracle training courses, looking at each of the following Oracle specialisms:

Oracle Foundation Training Courses

These Oracle training courses focus on the core skills of Oracle SQL and Oracle PL/SQL. Although many high level tools are available today, these basic skills are still highly relevant, and form an essential basis on which to build your skillset.

The Oracle PL/SQL training courses (9i and 10g) provide our core offering in this area, but there are also brief introductions and the more advanced extensions.

In particular, our training course in Advanced PL/SQL and Oracle Performance Tuning enables you to further the core skills, leaving you ready to progress to your organisation's chosen Oracle tools, and ensuring that your learning experience is more productive and relevant.

The introductory training courses in both Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g outline key features and benefits that each of these implementations provide.

Oracle Technical Training Courses

Our Oracle DBA training courses (e.g 10g DBA Fundamentals I and 10g DBA Fundamentals II) form the core around which this category of training is organised.

They provide the foundation for a comprehensive range of technical training courses in Oracle database administration specialisms, e.g. back up, recovery, tuning, clustering, Linux, etc.

We endeavour to give you a full and unbiased account of the Oracle database and its features; enabling you to utilise Oracle technologies in a way which fits the nature of your data and your business demands.

Oracle Development Training Courses

This group of Oracle courses is primarily concerned with developing forms and reports, using the Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports tools.

Alongside these established tools we also offer Oracle training for JDeveloper: Oracle's industrial strength IDE. JDeveloper is at the forefront of Oracle's efforts to support open-source Java, XML, Web Services and middle-tier design principles.

We also pride ourselves in offering training and consultancy in prior versions of both Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports, as well as Oracle Designer; please view our Legacy offerings for all available options.

Oracle Web Technology Training Courses

These Oracle training courses focus on the deployment of Oracle Portal.

Oracle Portal is a solution to build, deploy and administer enterprise web portals.

If your company requires a single entry point to applications content and collaborative tools, as well as enabling self-service publishing with the support of a growing community of users, this could be the solution.

This section also provides courses to help you develop your enterprise Portal using custom designed Portlets, whether via the PL/SQL or via the Java APIs in Oracle's Portal Development Kit.

Oracle Designer Training Courses

This selection of Oracle courses centres on the Oracle Designer environment

Oracle Designer provides database application developers with a complete toolset to model, generate and capture the requirements and design of enterprise applications.

A flexible and integrated environment, Oracle Designer enables generation of fully featured web-enabled applications, refactoring of existing legacy applications, while being supported by Oracle SCM to store and manage metadata for your applications.

Oracle Business Intelligence Training Courses

The Oracle training courses in this category focus on business intelligence, using the Oracle Discoverer reporting tool.

iTrain offers Oracle Business Intelligence training courses for:

  • Those generating enterprise reports and statistics, and;
  • Those who need to enable the technology: the administrators.

Oracle Discoverer Training Courses

These Oracle courses are for users and administrators of the Oracle Discoverer reporting tool.

Oracle Discoverer is a relatively user-friendly query, analysis and reporting tool for retrieving data from Oracle databases. It can generate both ‘ad hoc’ and ‘pre-defined’ reports, for both casual and power users. It is integrated with the Oracle E-Business Suite.

Oracle Discoverer can lever information from many datasources e.g. the Oracle database, OLTP system, your data warehouse or Oracle E-Business Suite.

Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer 10g has improved in several key areas:

  • Now that the Oracle Database has fully integrated OLAP and relational analytics, Oracle Discoverer has direct OLAP access for users to create multi-dimesional analysis and reports.
  • A number of reporting enhancements have been added, among them improved drilling, high-fidelity printing, parameter enhancements.
  • Ease of use has also been improved, with additional drag and drop functionality, improved drilling, better workspace management and interactive pivoting.
  • While the tool itself has improved, so has the infrastructure supporting it: a new Java structural architecture improves scalability, while Single Sign On (SSO) is now available at the database level.

Legacy Training Courses

iTrain has been delivering Oracle training courses and Oracle services for many years.

This experience enables us to deliver training courses on many Oracle versions still used in industry, yet sadly forgotten by other training companies.

We can provide training courses for all versions of the core Oracle tools: Forms, Reports, Discoverer, Designer, as well as Oracle 8i DBA.
